2022年世界杯的主辦國(guó)是中東國(guó)家卡塔爾(Qatar)，2022年卡塔爾世界杯(FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022)是第二十二屆世界杯足球賽，是歷史上首次在卡塔爾和中東國(guó)家境內(nèi)舉行、也是第二次在亞洲舉行的世界杯足球賽。
第一次在亞洲舉行的世界杯足球賽是2002年韓日世界杯(2002 Korea Japan FIFA World Cup)，也就是第十七屆世界杯足球賽。這也是首次由兩個(gè)國(guó)家共同舉辦的世界杯。
