CHENGDU, China, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- China won its fifth consecutive womens teams title after sweeping Japan 3-0 at the World Team Table Tennis Championships here on Saturday.
It was also a record-extending 22nd time for China to have lifted the Corbillon Cup in history.
In the two sides fourth straight head-to-head in the final dating back to 2014, China enjoyed a wire-to-wire victory, as Olympic champion Chen Meng put the hosts ahead with an 11-6, 11-8, 11-8 win over Miyuu Kihara.

‘PingPong’和‘Table Tennis’
許多人都知道乒乓球有一個簡單好記的英文名字‘pingpong’，不過在國際上，或者課本里，我們學到的都是叫做‘table tennis’（桌上網(wǎng)球），就算是國際乒聯(lián)在命名時，用的也是‘Table Tennis’而不是‘PingPong’。具體的原因就在于‘PingPong’其實是一個已經(jīng)被注冊了的商標。沒想到吧！乒乓球的發(fā)源可以追溯到19世紀后期的英國，當時人們喜歡打網(wǎng)球，于是順勢發(fā)明了一個可以在室內(nèi)打的“網(wǎng)球”，也就是乒乓球。最開始這個運動名為‘parlour table game’，就是“室內(nèi)桌上游戲”。后來在英國成立乒乓球協(xié)會的時候，他們選擇了用‘pingpong’來注冊，后來發(fā)現(xiàn)這個已經(jīng)被一家名為“倫敦雅克”的公司找上門，后來便有了‘table tennis’協(xié)會。這就是現(xiàn)在國際乒聯(lián)‘International Table Tennis Federation’的前身。而乒乓球‘Table Tennis’也沿用至今。中國乒乓球為何如此牛掰?? ? ? ?
