首先，需要搞清楚，處于越位位置和越位違例是兩回事。只有處于越位位置并得利，才會吹違例，并有對方開任意球。

所以要分開來說，什么是「處于越位位置」和什么是「得利」。

規(guī)則如下：

A player is in an offside position if:

? he is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponentA player is not in an offside position if:

? he is in his own half of the field of play or? he is level with the second-last opponent or

? he is level with the last two opponents

該球員比皮球和對方倒數(shù)第二名球員更接近端線，即為越位，但是有三種情況例外：

一、在本方半場；

二、他與對方倒數(shù)第二名球員平行；

三、他與對方最后兩個球員平行。

三種例外里邊，后兩種基本是一個意思。第一條是需要邊裁時刻注意的。同情，并請注意，該球員的位置，必須同時滿足：比皮球更靠近端線，比對方倒數(shù)第二名球員更靠近端線。兩者缺一不可。

一句話概括：球員在對方半場，既比皮球更靠近對方端線，又比對方倒數(shù)第二名球員更靠近對方端線，則該球員處于越位位置（平行位置不屬于越位）。

接下來，再看越位位置得利。

or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:

當(dāng)隊(duì)友觸球時刻，處于越位位置的球員若參與到這次進(jìn)攻或干擾了對手或利用位置獲利（補(bǔ)射之類），既被認(rèn)定為越位位置得利，須判罰防守方的簡介任意球。

同時，有三種情況例外：

There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from:

? a goal kick? a throw-in

直接接到本方門球；被擲入的界外球；本方角球。

概括一下：門球、界外球、角球、球員處于本方半場，均不會被吹越位違例；球員比球和對方倒數(shù)第二名球員都更靠近端線，則處于越位位置；隊(duì)友觸球、射門時刻，處于越位位置的球員參與進(jìn)攻、干擾對手、利用位置獲利，則判罰越位違例。
