之前小編和大家介紹過(guò)一個(gè)英語(yǔ)表達(dá)“XING”。這個(gè)看起來(lái)有一點(diǎn)像拼音的表達(dá)，其實(shí)是地道的英語(yǔ)。“XING”是“crossing”的縮寫(xiě)，意思是道路的交叉路口。

其實(shí)，英語(yǔ)中還有很多寫(xiě)法和中文拼音一樣的單詞。我們很容易受到母語(yǔ)影響，第一反應(yīng)把它代入漢語(yǔ)拼音。比如我們今天要和大家聊一聊的表達(dá)。

前兩天，外教發(fā)消息說(shuō)“I will ping you”。這個(gè)“ping”在這里是什么意思呢？

名詞：

動(dòng)詞：

乒乓作響，發(fā)出砰的響聲

We heard a small stone ping against our window.

我們聽(tīng)到一顆小石子砰的一聲砸在我們的窗戶(hù)上。

給我發(fā)郵件

所以，“I will ping you”是“我會(huì)給你發(fā)消息”的意思。此外，發(fā)消息還可以說(shuō)“text”，名詞或動(dòng)詞都可以。

Ill send you a text as soon as I have any news.

我一得到任何消息，就立刻給你發(fā)短信。

I texted her to arrange a time to meet.

我給她發(fā)了短信，和她約好見(jiàn)面時(shí)間。

還有一個(gè)和“ping”看起來(lái)有點(diǎn)像的“pin”，雖然只有3個(gè)字母，但是它也有很多不同的意思。

英文釋義3：a leg 腿

爺爺現(xiàn)在年紀(jì)很大了，走路有點(diǎn)不穩(wěn)。

此外，“pin”在國(guó)際象棋中還有“牽制”或“困子”的意思。這是特殊的一步，移動(dòng)后阻止另一方移動(dòng)棋子，因?yàn)橐苿?dòng)棋子會(huì)使另一個(gè)更重要的棋子有危險(xiǎn)。

That nasty pin stopped me from moving my knight.

而大寫(xiě)的“PIN”是“Personal identification number”的縮寫(xiě)，它是“銀行卡密碼”的意思。也可以譯為“用戶(hù)個(gè)人識(shí)別碼”，常和number連用。PIN number通常是由一串?dāng)?shù)字組成，多指在提取現(xiàn)金或辦理銀行業(yè)務(wù)時(shí)，需要在數(shù)字鍵盤(pán)上輸入的個(gè)人賬戶(hù)密碼。

看到“pang”，很多人可能會(huì)想到“胖”，但它的意思是“一陣劇痛；（尤指）悲痛”。

看到“ping”又看到“pang”，難免會(huì)讓人想到我們的國(guó)球“乒乓球”。但是“乒乓球”正確的英語(yǔ)表達(dá)是“Ping-Pong”。
